Admittedly, it is true that 212213  and 31334 , but this does not help us to say anything about how the products are related to each other. Instead, we observe that the exponents 1/2, 3/4, 1/3 and 1 have 34=12 as the lowest common denominator which we can take out

21233421331=26123(33)12=2639112=241231212=24312112.

Now, we can compare the bases 2639 and 24312 with each other and so decide which number is larger.

Because

263924312=26−439−12=223−3=3322=4271

the denominator 24312 is larger than the numerator 2639, which means that 323  is larger than 2433 .
