Up-to-date knowledge increases your chances of success

The course is a bridging course between high school and university. It goes through some of the basic skills which we think are so important that they ought to be refreshed before your university studies. It is flexible in as much as you study at the pace that suites you.

Here is how it is envisaged that you will work with the course:

right

  • Start by reading the review of a section and study the examples.
  • Work through the practice questions and then answer the questions in the basic test belonging to the section. If you get stuck, see if someone has asked a question about this particular part of the course in the forum, or else ask a question yourself.
  • When you are finished with the exercises and the basic test in one section, take the final test of the section to obtain a pass for the section.
  • When you have passed all the final tests you will be given an individual assignment that you should solve independently then submit after which you will work in a group.

Your personal mentor assists you

When you log in with your user name you will be taken to the "Student lounge." Here you will find an email address and telephone number to your personal mentor whom you can contact if you get stuck on a question or have something else you need help with.

right

The mentors have names such as Albert Einstein, Kurt Gödel, Archimedes and so on. But behind these names are can be found a large group of people, who are teachers and / or students at any of the universities taking part in MATH.SE. Your mentor wants nothing better than to help you. Our common goal is that everybody who starts on the course manages to complete it and thus have a good ground to stand on with regard to their future university studies. For us, there no such thing as a stupid question if one does not include the questions which ought to have been asked but never were !
