The maximum height is when the j component of the velocity is zero.

Using v=u+at  with u=8i+10j ms-1 and  a=10j  ms-2 ,

v=8i+10j+(10j)t 

Thus the ball is at its maximum height when t=1 s.

We use. the expression for the position vector obtained in part a), r=(8i+10j)t+21(10j)t 2.

The maximum height is the j component of this vector at t=1 s
